FAQ
Check out the most common questions our customers asked.
Do these bench dogs wobble or have 'slop' inside standard 20mm holes?
No. Traditional solid bench dogs often have a tiny bit of play to allow easy removal, which can compromise sub-millimeter cutting accuracy. The HD30 system solves this by using a knurled, expandable inner brace mechanism inside the sleeve. When you tighten the top-mounted collar, the lower section flares out inside the dog hole, firmly fixing it in place with zero wiggle, even under heavy clamping pressure.
What size table holes do they fit?
They are precisely machined for standard 20mm multi-function table (MFT) hole grids (such as Festool MFT/3 or UJK Parf Guide systems).
What is the difference between the various heights (12mm to 60mm) in the set?
The shorter heights (12mm and 24mm) function as low-profile stops, allowing you to sand or plane thin wood blanks without your tool hitting the metal dog. The taller variations (30mm, 40mm, and 50mm) are designed for registering thicker stock, mounting custom fences, or supporting guide rail adapters.
How does the special 60mm 'Super Bench Dog' work?
The 60mm variant features a reversible design. It acts as a heavy-duty anchor point that can be flipped over depending on the clamping configuration, offering a versatile range of 0–18mm for specialized material holding, whereas the smaller models handle a 0–28mm adjustment range via their interchangeable spacer rings.
Will these scratch or mar my fine hardwood workpieces?
While the core bodies are precision CNC-machined from anodized aluminum alloy and stainless steel for durability, they come equipped with integrated rubber cushion rings. These friction rings prevent metal-on-metal or metal-on-wood contact, protecting your workpiece edges from marring while simultaneously increasing grip.
Can I remove them quickly, or do I need a wrench every time?
They feature a tool-free design. The top-mounted knurled sleeves allow you to lock or loosen the expanding mechanism entirely by hand in under 5 seconds, avoiding the need for dedicated Allen keys or wrenches during a busy workflow.
