About HD30-GD7N
Zero Play. 7 Steps to Perfect Alignment: The HD30-GD7N
Drop it into your grid table, twist the indexing collar, and lock down absolute stability instantly. The HONGDUI HD30-GD7N eliminates the frustration of loose bench dogs and uneven setups. Built with an innovative 7-step thickness-indexing collar, this stop effortlessly self-corrects to match the exact profile of your workbench top—whether you are working on thin portable MFTs or massive shop-built benches. Its high-precision mechanical lockdown design completely vectors out lateral movement within standard 20mm dog holes. Stop chasing squareness; turn your table into an unyielding layout matrix where templates and guide rails align with absolute certainty.

FAQ
Check out the most common questions our customers asked.
What is the exact shaft diameter of the HD30-GD7N? Will it fit standard 20mm MFT holes seamlessly, or is there any play?
The shaft is precision CNC-machined to exactly 19.95mm, specifically engineered for industry-standard 20mm holes (such as Festool MFT/3 or custom CNC-routed UJK Parf guide system tables). The 0.05mm clearance ensures that the bench dog glides in smoothly without sticking, while remaining perfectly vertical with zero noticeable wobble when lateral pressure is applied.
Will these bench dogs work in a 3/4-inch (19.05mm) workbench hole?
No. The HD30 series is strictly designed for modern metric 20mm hole systems. For traditional North American 3/4-inch workbench holes, you would need to enlarge your holes to 20mm using a step drill bit or a dedicated router jig, or look for a dedicated 3/4" variant if available.
What is the purpose of the adjustable stepped rings (the "GD7N" mechanism)? How does it work?
The "GD7N" designation refers to the 7-step height adjustment system. By rotating the locking ring collar, you can mechanically raise or lower the projecting stop height of the dog above your table surface. This allows you to quickly dial in the perfect low-profile lip for thin stock (e.g., 4mm or 6mm plywood) so your track saw motor or hand plane clears the dog completely, or raise it to support thicker 30mm hardwood boards without changing to a different set of dogs.
Does the adjustable collar slip when a heavy workpiece is pushed against it?
No. The adjustment mechanism uses positive mechanical detents (not just friction or a basic rubber O-ring). Once clicked into one of the designated height settings and locked, the vertical reference point is rock-solid. It can withstand significant lateral force from clamping elements or heavy hand planing without slipping downward.
Does the kit come as a single piece, a pair, or a 4-pack? Do they include the matching stop fence?
The HONGDUI HD30-GD7N is typically sold as a set of 2 (a pair) of adjustable bench dogs. It is designed to act as a stand-alone stop line or to be integrated with HONGDUI's extended aluminum profile fences. If you are building a full 90-degree squaring matrix on an MFT table, purchasing two sets (4 dogs total) is highly recommended.
Are the small rubber O-rings on the shaft replaceable if they dry out or tear over time?
Yes. The O-rings are located at the base of the shaft to provide just enough frictional resistance so the dog doesn't fall through the table if you lift it. They are standard-size metric nitrile O-rings. If they wear out after years of use in a dusty shop environment, they can easily be swapped out with any standard hardware store O-ring assortment kit.
